Marion Kelly has served as the AFL-CIO's Labor
Food Pantry Manager for over three years, logging more than
3,000 hours of volunteer service to our community.
Marion learned of the need for pantry volunteers from the UFCW
1099 Northern Retirees Club. He became hooked on helping others
the day one client, a fellow union member, told him, "I
came down here because I'm hungry." |
Over the past three years, the pantry has served
over 120,000 meals to working families, and Marion makes sure
all of his clients know to call HelpLink 211 to link them to
other vital services.
Marion comes by this volunteer job naturally. He worked at Kroger
for 38 years before his retirement and he currently works at
Meijer in Englewood. |
