Your local United Way
teamed up with the American Red Cross to assist families left
behind while their loved one serves in the military overseas.
For Samantha, that
meant letting her reservist husband serving in Iraq know he
had a bouncing baby boy. With donated equipment and software,
the Red Cross made a video email so the first-time father
could see his brand new son.
“Seeing pictures of
our new baby are one thing, but seeing him “live” and moving
around made his day,” said Samantha.
Whether responding to a disaster or meeting the growing demand
for basic needs, United Way partners like Red Cross are there
to assist families in crisis. |
